2018 NVSL All Swim Ninja: 15-18s

With the completion of the 2018 NVSL regular season, the time has come for announcing our All swim Ninja team. Using best times from this season, we have composed 1st and 2nd Team, as well as Honorable Mention, selections for each age group and gender. While many athletes who made our preseason list performed up to expectation, we were excited to see several new names make the final team selection. Because summer swimming is a true team sport, we thought it was important to make our selections based on how athletes performed during the regular season where they competed to score points to win meets. We want to congratulate all the athletes for working hard and making our job of creating these lists a difficult process!

Boys

First Team:

  • Anthony Grimm (Fair Oaks): Anthony burst onto the scene with all the big boys this season as a 15 y/o, claiming his spot right at the top–he finished the season ranked 1st in back, breast (see this swim below) and fly, and landing at 3rd in 50m free–an incredible season regardless of being at the bottom or top of the age group

  • Thomas Hallock (Fox Mill Woods): Tommy was the only swimmer under 24 this summer, leading the league in 50m free with his 23.96–he also had the 2nd fastest 50m breast, and 3rd fastest 50m fly
  • Grant DeWitt (Chesterbrook): Grant finished 2018 with the 2nd fastest 50m back (see this swim below–he wins it from lane 5), 5th fastest 50 breast, and 6th fastest 50m fly

  • Thomas Outlaw (Chesterbrook): Thomas finished the season ranked 2nd in 50m fly, 4th in 50m free, and 8th in 50m back
  • Paul Kinsella (Overlee): Paul finished 2018 with the 3rd fastest 50m breast (see this swim below) and 6th fastest 50m free

  • Sam Ellison (Overlee): Sam finished with the 2nd fastest 50m free (see this swim with Sam racing Thomas Outlaw in lane 3 and Paul Kinsella in lane 6 below) and 10th fastest 50m fly in 2018

Second Team: 

  • Aleksander Tarczynski (Hunt Valley): Aleksander finished 7th in 50m free and 50m fly (see this swim below)

  • Peter Makin (Fairfax): Peter finished 8th in 50m free and 5th in 50m back in 2018
  • Tyler Ellis (Pinecrest): Tyler was 4th in 50m fly and 10th in 50m breast this summer
  • Ben Charles (Highlands): Ben landed 8th in 50m breast and 9th in 50m fly

Honorable Mention

  • Ryan Soh (Chesterbrook): Ryan finished with the 3rd fastest 50m back in 2018
  • Jaya Kambhampaty (Fox Mill Woods): Jaya had the 4th fastest 50m back in 2018
  • Michael Burns (Lakeview): Michael had the 4th fastest 50m breast in 2018

Girls

First Team

  • Katie Mack (Hamlet): Katie finished off 2018 with the top times in 50m free and 50m back
  • Kayle Park (Overlee): Kayle had the fastest 50m breast time in the league at 33.46 (see this swim below)–she also had the 4th fastest 50m free time this summer

  • Jacquee Clabeaux (Greenbrier): Jacquee had 4 top 10 times in 2018, finishing 2nd in 50m free and 50m back, 3rd in 50m breast, and 5th in 50m fly
  • Cassidy Bayer (Mount Vernon Park): Cassidy had the fastest 50m fly and 3rd fastest 50m back in 2018

Second Team

  • Evie Giesman (Tuckahoe): Evie had the 3rd fastest 50m free and 8th fastest 50m fly in 2018
  • Jillian Johnson (Chesterbrook): Jillian finished 3rd in 50m fly (see this swim below) and 5th in 50m back in 2018

  • Sarah Boyle (Virginia Run): Sarah finished 4th in 50m back and 6th in 50m fly in 2018
  • Sinead Eksteen (Shouse Village): Sinead had the 5th fastest 50m free in 2018–she also posted the 7th fastest 50m back this summer
  • Brynn Curtis (Cardinal Hill): Brynn had the 6th fastest 50m free and 50m breast in 2018

Honorable Mention

  • Adair Sand (Langley): Adair had the 8th fastest 50m free and 10th fastest 50m back in 2018
  • Allison Martin (Highlands): Allison finished 10th in 50m free and 9th in 50m fly
  • Anna Keating (Vienna Aquatic): Anna had the 2nd fastest 50m breast (just .13s behind Kayle Park)
  • Jordan Buechler (Walden Glen): Jordan had the 2nd fastest 50m fly (behind Cassidy Bayer by .10s
